Safari

Saturday we spent a fun filled day at Longleat. We started off the day by going on a Safari Adventure. The first bit we were allowed to travel on foot but the majority of the time we had to stay in our car.

Here is what we saw on our foot tour:

These are wallabies...

Then we jumped in our car to view the rest of the Safari animals.
Spencer helped Adam drive...don't worry we were being safe. We were only driving 5 mph. We brought Spencer up front with us because we wanted him to see the animals...he was more interested in driving then the animals though.

There were signs with fun facts scattered throughout the park.
I thought the bit about tiger's skin and zebra's skin was pretty interesting...I guess I never thought about shaving a tiger or zebra to see what their skin looked like...
This is a one-humped camel, down the road we saw a flock of two-humped camels...
When we got to the deer there was a little shop where you could buy food to feed the deer. We personally didn't feed them, but we enjoyed watching other people feed them...
In this last car, the deer on the left didn't understand the woman's personal boundaries. She was screaming and flailing her arms. It was incredibly amusing:)
At this point we were instructed to roll up our windows and to proceed with caution. We were entering the lion and tiger territory. Although there were signs warning of horrifying scary danger, the grand finale of fierce animals of prey was a little anticlimactic...
It was such a hot day that most of the animals we saw were lounging in the shade. The lions and tigers were no different...in fact, if anything they were more lazy then all the other animals combined. I guess they are just big cats...The lions just looked dead...we knew they weren't because one of them got up just long enough to flop over onto its other side. It gave us a good laugh.

All in all it was a fantastic safari and a great start to our fun day in the sun.
