Cheap and Refreshing

Fun in the Sun

It has been HOT HOT HOT here lately. We have been experiencing record highs in Cheltenham the last few days. When I say hot I mean it has been in the mid 80's:)

It rarely gets hot here so none of the houses have AC. When the temperature rises there is no where to go for refuge. Of course after living on the east coast for a few years, Adam and I are used to hot days. Here we have the heat without the humidity so it is actually quite nice!

On Saturday our friends Chris and Carolyn invited us over for a picnic. We had good company, good weather, and a good time! We started the day off with a picnic in the yard. Then we broke the BIGGEST RULE ever, we went swimming immediately after eating...

Spencer tried his best to keep up with the other boys, both Alex and Jack are quite a bit older. They did a great job showing Spencer how fun an independent life can be!
The water was cold but Spencer LOVED it! He has always loved being in the water. He'll kick his legs and swing his arms to make big splashes. I guess we'll be investing in a pool when we get back home...

After our big meal and playing hard in the pool we went for a nature walk...
We strapped the boys in carriers and took off down a dirt road. Eventually that road turned into a small foot path that wound through the woods and around various streams and ponds. It was BEAUTIFUL! All the boys (under 2 years old) fell asleep in their carriers, which was the best part of all.

When we finished our walk we went back to the house to take family photos...

This is Chris, Carolyn, and their son Alexander. They are expecting another little boy due at the end of October...Thanks so much for the invite guys, we had a fabulous time!

This is Travis, Teresa, and their son Jack. They are also expecting a little boy at the end of October. I guess it is a race to see whose son will arrive first:) It was so nice to get together with you guys again...next time let's not wait 5 months between visits:)

And of course here is our family photo. Spencer looks grumpy but he was really a happy boy all day. We are not expecting a baby boy...or a baby girl for that matter, but we do wish the best of luck to the expecting mums just the same.
