Feeling thirsty for some Lamar Lemonade? I know it has been a while since I've blogged anything. The truth is, I haven't really been feeling like my usual self. Without getting into all the messy details I've been struggling with some postpartum depression.
I still have some bad days but mostly I'm starting to feel better. I have good friends coming to help me with Spencer several times a week and I have caring doctors I meet with regularly who are helping me work through this difficult time.
But enough about me, I know you are really interested in these guys:
Natalie was textbook colicky and we didn't know what to do with her until we got a copy of "The Happiest Baby on the Block."
This book was a lifesaver. After just a few attempts of applying it's methods we saw instant results. Now Natalie is literally the happiest baby on our block.
This sweet little girl is smiling, laughing, and cooing. She likes to lay on the floor and take the whole world in. She also enjoys her brightly colored toys and simple picture books. I think she'll be a thumb sucker because if she isn't feeding she is sucking on a pacifier. She.Loves.Her.Binki.
She is also fascinated with her big brother. She can't get enough of him, except of course when he gets so close he is practically on top of her.
I can already tell these two are going to be best friends. Spencer is quite taken with his little sister too. He wants to hold and help her any way he can.
See what I mean? He is my big helper.
As for Brother he is still my lovey-cuddly boy but he is also a typical two year old.
He pushes my buttons and stretches limits. He'll be happy one moment and seconds later he is screaming loud enough to make the neighbors think there is a fire. Since the first book worked so well with Natalie I'm now reading "The Happiest Toddler on the Block," in hopes to better understand and cultivate him.
He is crazy and goofy and likes to have fun. He loves music and wants to sing all the time. He is also very infatuated with books and enjoys reading the words right along with me.
I was surprised to learn he recognizes most of his letters. Without helping him he was able to identify all the letters correctly except for "J", "P", "W", and "X." He thought the "P" was an "R", the "W" an "M", and the "X" a "K." Pretty good for a little guy! He is also quite good with his numbers, colors, and shapes. I'm a proud momma to have such a smart boy.
Ahhhh, feel refreshed after that sweet update? I bet.

Sounds like Spencer is very clever! And may I say, I think Natalie looks SO much like you. You have a little Adam and a little Rachel, it's adorable.
I'm suffering with post-partum depression again too, it's miserable isn't it? I just want to be happy and enjoy my children while they are small. I'm so glad that Natalie is over the colic- I know from Ben how hard that can be.
